Fishing at Bosebuck Camps...

Bosebuck Mountain Camps provides access to a multitude of rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. Many are private, exclusive waters. The upper Magallaway River is a designated "Trophy Trout Water" by the state of Maine and catch and release fishing is strongly encouraged. The biggest brook trout and landlocked salmon in Maine live here.

Some areas are designated fly-fishing only. Some are "catch and release" only. There are also areas for general fishing, including superb lake trolling. Experienced Maine guides are available and can really enhance your fishing experience.

A detailed description of Fly Fishing seasons and Fly Hatches can be found here.

There is excellent spring fly fishing with streamers starting early to mid May. As spring moves toward summer, dry fly fishing begins in earnest. As the water temperatures rise in summer, the cold tailwaters of the lower Magallaway River provide better fishing.

Fall fishing season, late August through September, is very productive with the added bonus of colorful fall foliage and big mature fish , also in their fall colors!

We are licensed by the state of Maine to sell all types of fishing licenses.

By the way, if you do wish to keep some fish, please review the regulations book. We will be happy to clean and freeze your legal catch or to prepare them for your dinner or breakfast at camp.
